Ron is a native of Murray County.  He graduated from Slayton High School and continued his education at SDSU and the U of Minnesota.  He received his B.S. in 1962 and his DVM in 1964. 

Dr. Kuecker practiced small animal medicine in Roseville, MN for one year then moved to Windom in 1965.  He practiced rural veterinary medicine in Windom for 35 years and then retired on June 1, 2000.

Ron’s wife, Dianne, has an RN degree from Abbott Hospital and a Bachelor’s Degree from Macalester College with majors in Psychology and Sociology.  They have 3 sons, Scott, Tom and Dan.

Ron’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, gardening, improving wildlife habitat, studying wildlife diseases, taking care of his cabin in Pope County and his family.

Wise fiscal management, employee concerns, good hiring practices and water and land usage issues are his special interests as commissioner.

Ron is currently serving his third term as a Cottonwood County Commissioner.
