Responsibilities of the
County Attorney's Office:
- Prosecute all
felony level crimes which occur within Cottonwood County, as
well as all gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor crimes which occur
outside the City limits of Windom, Westbrook, Storden, Jeffers,
Bingham Lake and Mountain Lake.
- Represent
Cottonwood County in all civil cases in which the County is a
party, including condemnations, zoning code enforcement and tax
appeals.
- Provide legal
representation to Cottonwood County Family Service Agency in
areas of child support enforcement, child protection, civil
commitments and public assistance litigation.
- Provide legal
advice to the Board of Commissioners, Planning Commission, Board
of Adjustment and all Cottonwood County Departments.
- Appear on behalf
of the State in civil forfeitures, juvenile delinquency and
truancy cases.
- Draft ordinances
and contracts involving the County of Cottonwood.
